Hello, and welcome to the first blog for the Port Douglas Holiday!
Let's start off by telling you how we got here.
On the morning of Thursday, the 29th, My Dad woke me up so I can get ready for the trip.
I have a brief shower before getting out and putting my clothes on. The Uber arrives so we
put our luggage into the boot then we head off. The journey to the airport lasted around 20
minutes.
When we arrived, we thanked the Uber driver and then we went down to the Jetstar check-in area to check-in.
After checking in, we go up the escalator to go through security.
Security was busy, but they were doing a good job and were sending people to other security stands so it wouldn't get clogged up.
We get through security and enter Terminal 4 (This is where Jetstar and Virgin are located).
For brekkie, I get a Soda Water and some chips, same for Tom and Dad but Christopher got
a Hash Brown and a Soda water. In case you were wondering about Mum she didn't have McDonald's, she had a Nut bar.
When we finished our food it was almost time for boarding so we headed down to the gate.
When we got to the gate, A Jetstar employee comes up to us and weighs our bags.
Once we are done with weighing, we get our tickets scanned right outside the door and then we walk out to our plane.
We walk up the stairs entering the airplane from the back door (because our seats are closer to the back door) to be greeted by a flight attendant. He asks for my ticket so I give it to him.
He says "all good" and then let's me go to my seat.
All the same happened to my family and after their tickets got checked they went to their seats.
I was in the window seat, here's a photo of my view:

The crew goes through the safety instructions and then we taxi to Runway 34.
We arrive at the runway just after holding short for another plane but then, slowly the pilot pushes the power lever forward to about 80 percent.
We rocket down the runway but then we lift of into the air.
We fly straight for some time but then we turn right and enter the clouds.

We fly for about 1 hr before we begin our decent into Newcastle.
For food we had cheese and crackers with sparkling water.
We start to get close to the runway, so the pilot puts the seatbelt sign on so we buckle up and wait for the landing.

We taxi to the gate and then once we come to a stop the captain turns off the seatbelt sign.
We get our carry on from the overhead lockers and then we disembark
the aircraft.
